Ah Song's 21st Party. It was at a nice chinese restaurant, although Ah Song is Korean. She treated all of us to the food. It is quite unusual because for birthday celebrations here in NZ, the birthday person usually just provides the venue while the well wishers pay for their own food.
The cut cake section of the party was so touching cos ppl were making speeches about Ah Song. It was so embarrassing cos I had to leave early but the speeches dragged on. There were 3 speeches scheduled by Ah Song but those speeches inspired more ppl at the party to make more speeches. Yes, I was the first to leave. Tried to make it an inconspicuous exit but Ah Song brought everyone's attention to me by asking her whole party to say goodbye to me. *so embarrassing*
Good Charlotte was having a concert next to where Gabby's party was and we managed to come face to face with all the members!!! That's their signature there. As u can tell, we used any paper we could find in our wallets. hee..
Was quite an eventful night, we came home to this scene after meeting Good Charlotte. Yup, our apartment was evacuated because there was a fire or rather, a fire scare. Once, Huiling and I were having dinner when the fire alarm alert went off. It said 'there is a fire in another part of the building, you may evacuate if you want to.' We didn't barge cos we wanted to enjoy our nice dinner (bak kut teh soup!) but after 5 mins, we were forced to leave our dinner. The warning turned into a real fire alarm. 'The fire alarm is now on, pls evacuate the building now'.
We had to climb down 15 levels and wait in the cold for 1/2hr. Surprisingly, the fire engines took really long to arrives, ard 10mins. 5 fire trucks came (a little over the top considering how it turned out not to be a fire) NZ's fire department is usually very efficient. Almost everday, I can hear fire trucks rushing from one place to another in the city with their sirens blaring. Really makes one wonder if Auckland has so many fires or is the fire department just trying to make themselves seem really busy.
